Hi, I'm Caroline Beavon, a digital artist whose work moves between analogue sketchbooks and interactive digital experiences.
I've repurposed skills from a lifetime in broadcast journalism and visual comms to create curious digital stories. My hand-drawn sketches are digitised and animated, combined with video footage and raw materials that shouldn't get along, woven into scrollable stories and experiences. Experienced online or projected in real space, my work invites you to step in, interact, sit with the weird, and challenge your own thinking.
For four weeks this summer I'm taking over Mid Street Lab in Kemptown, Brighton — building new work in public, with the doors open.
The space will have finished pieces to experience from day one — Glitch, ScrollBook, Watch — while I'm at the back making something new work. You might catch me animating sketches, messing around with old footage, or staring into space.
Bring snacks.
I'm really looking forward to having this space to play in. Time and space to mess around with ideas, and to invite people in while I'm doing it.
Photosensitivity warning: This exhibition contains flashing lights, flickering screens and stroboscopic effects which may affect visitors who are sensitive to light or who have epilepsy. Due to the nature of the space, these elements may be difficult to avoid. If you are affected, please contact Caroline before visiting at caroline@carolinebeavon.com.

PLAY
Sat 25 July, 10am–5pm
A relaxed drop-in for analogue artists curious about digital. See how a sketchbook drawing becomes an interactive experience, have a go on a drawing tablet, and watch your work come to life on a big screen. With digital illustrator Jo Harrison. No code. No AI. No experience needed.
RECORD
Sat 8 August, 10am–5pm
Three weeks in, the work is taking shape — and I need your honest reaction. Come and interact with what's been building in the studio. Scroll through it, play with it, break it a bit. Your feedback shapes what gets made. No experience needed — just curiosity and opinions.
